Partial renovation in an occupied home

What to check first

A room renovation needs clear boundaries, not necessarily a whole-home project. Prepare the information that helps us assess phased working.

Keep essential routes usable

Mark access to bedrooms, the kitchen and bathroom. Tell us which room can be cleared and for how long; working in phases depends on space and the agreed scope.

Move and protect the right things

Identify furniture that stays, curtains and delicate items. Agree floor protection and how sanding dust will be managed; do not assume an occupied room remains usable throughout.

Set the boundaries of the finish

Identify each wall, ceiling and junction with retained texture. If a partition is also planned, resolve doors and electrical work before smoothing and paint.

Questions before work begins

Must every room be emptied?

Not automatically. We agree the areas to clear and protect according to access, preparation and drying requirements.

Can I renovate one room first?

Yes, we can assess a partial project. The connections to retained surfaces and any later phases should be defined from the start.
