How to prepare a building-permit enquiry
There is no single permission that covers every renovation in Fuerteventura. The municipality, property and actual scope matter. This guide helps prepare a consultation; the applicable procedure must be confirmed with the relevant council and, where needed, the responsible qualified professional.

Describe the work rather than guessing the permit
Prepare the address, existing plan, photos and an itemised description. Distinguish replacing finishes from changing layout, structure, façade, use or shared services. Ask the authority what documentation and procedure apply to that specific scope. Do not assume that a neighbour’s previous renovation establishes the requirements for yours.

Check private and public permissions separately
Community rules and administrative procedures answer different questions. A council document does not automatically settle rights over façades or common installations. Containers, scaffolding or temporary occupation of public space may need separate arrangements. Resolve these points before booking deliveries or work that depends on them.
Keep confirmation with the project records
Ask who prepares and submits documents, who follows up and what must be available before work starts. Keep acknowledgements and decisions, not just informal messages.
